Leslie Altamirano

Biography

Leslie, a Southern Californian native originally from South East Los Angeles, has been residing in Jurupa Valley since 2014, where she and her family purchased a home in the Rubidoux area of the City. Her children attend Jurupa Unified District schools, Riverside Community College, and the University of California, Riverside.

Community Involvement

In terms of community involvement, Leslie has volunteered in local elementary schools for several years, donating school supplies and offering her time. She also regularly volunteers at local food drives and has utilized her photography skills by volunteering with a high school basketball team. Additionally, Leslie has assisted community members in applying for community college, building curriculums, and providing guidance on entrepreneurship opportunities, as well as FAFSA and DACA applications.

Leslie currently sits on the local Jurupa AYSO board as a division Coordinator for U6 and U8, where she recruits and trains new soccer coaches. She is also currently a U8 soccer coach along with her husband.

Education & Work Experience

Leslie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and started her career as an in-home care provider with Riverside County IHSS. Presently, she owns a Freight company that operates from Jurupa Valley. Additionally, Leslie is an author who writes children's books, which are often inspired and illustrated by her seven-year-old daughter, making them a fun and collaborative project.

  • Western Riverside County Regional Conservation Authority (RCA)
