Guidelines for Residents

Residential solid waste and recycling collection is administered by the City through a contractual agreement with Burrtec Waste. Jurupa Valley residents are provided with three barrels, which are all serviced on the same day each week.

Collection Information

All barrels must be curbside by 6:00 a.m. on your service day. Barrels need to be removed from curbside within 12 hours after waste collection.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

Many households generate hazardous waste that is dangerous or illegal to dispose of in the trash and can also be harmful to the environment. Chemicals in illegally or improperly disposed hazardous waste can be released into the environment and contaminate our air and water.

Riverside County residents may dispose of Household Hazardous Waste at no cost every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Agua Mansa Permanent HHW Facility located at 1780 Agua Mansa Road, Jurupa Valley, CA 92509. For more information, please visit the Riverside County HHW Website.

Common acceptable materials include:

  • Paint products
  • Fluorescent lightbulbs
  • Computers
  • Sharps (must be in sealed hard plastic containers)
  • Unused medication* (except controlled substances)
  • Pool chemicals
  • Degreasers
  • Pesticides
  • Propane tanks
  • Used oil

At home, remove pills and other solid medications from their containers and consolidate in a clear plastic zipper bag. Liquids and creams may be kept in their original containers.

Unacceptable Materials

  • Asbestos
  • Ammunition and explosives
  • Tires and trash
  • Controlled substances
  • Medical waste
  • Business generated waste

Street Sweeping

The City contracts with Burrtec Waste to provide street sweeping services. Street sweeping occurs twice per month in areas that have curbs and gutters. Contact Burrtec Waste for questions/concerns regarding street sweeping at (951) 786-0639.
